Barrell tapered Hickory backing strips are tapered in thickness from the middle to the tips. Rough size is 3/16-1/4" thick in the middle and roughly 1/8" at the tips. Thicknesses may vary slightly from piece to piece. Smooth and ready for glueing . Measures approximatly 1 1/2"" wide , and a full 80" long!

For best results and maximum strength use a toothing plane or a hacksaw blade on the side to be glued for extra strength. This will give the glue something to grab instead of a smooth surface that will soak in the glue. Hickory is hard and tough. .
